Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. Her name has been widely praised for pioneering the study of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory within legal contexts. Professor Goodman published widely and has won several grants, and has been awarded numerous International and national awards. She has consulted with numerous governments and agencies throughout the globe on policy and research concerning child victims within the legal system. She is a consultant at the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously it was the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of many professional organizations including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). She also is a founding participant of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the chief of the American Psychological Society's three divisions which included Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice.
